3 A. The words in the box are in the story you are going to read. Can you guess what the story is about?

B. Write down 3-4 sentences about the contents of the story.

C. Read Nicole's story and check your guesses.

I can remember exactly what I was doing the day I first talked to David. It was 4 p.m. on a Wednesday, and I was mucking around on the Internet. I'd used it for three years but I had never before been into a transatlantic chat room. But for some reason that day, for the first time ever. I decided to give it a go, And at the very same moment Davy sent a message asking, "Anyone want to talk?"

I replied and that was the beginning, That first time we talked for an hour and the messages just flew across the Atlantic, Davy was so much fun to talk to, so animated and full of life. He also got my sense of humour, unlike most people!

The next day I woke up to a flashing computer message that just said: "Hey!" My heart started pounding and the butterflies were zipping round my stomach. I knew it was Davy. I didn't bother getting dressed or even grabbing a cup of coffee - I typed back furiously and we picked up from the day before. We started talking about dreams and ambitions, Then we swapped pictures, Davy looked artistic and creative.



D. Do you think it is a fairy tale? Could it happen in real life (RL)?

a) The phrases expressing Nicole's feelings.
b) Tht adjectives she uses to describe Dave.
c) Words describing the sequence of events (Refer to Lessons 3-4. Unit 8).

5 A. Compare extracts tandt.

 The next day, when I woke up, I got a message with a greeting, My heart started beating hard and I felt nervous. I knew it was Davy. I didn't get dressed, didn't have a cup of coffee. I typed back very quickly and we continued the previous topic of our talk, We started talking about dreams and ambitions. Then we exchanged pictures, Davy looked artistic and creative.

"My phone rang. I quickly took the receiver. It was Davy. He greeted me. His voice was wonderful. I felt happy. He said that he wanted to take me to some deserted place. We were unable to behave sensibly. When we were talking to each other there were no moments of silence or discomfort. We understood each other very well."

D. Finish the story preserving Nicole's style of writing.
