The main sources of fresh water over the territory of Ukraine are the river stream flows of the Dnieper, the Dniester, the Southern Bug, the Severskyy Donets, the Danube with its feeders, as well as small rivers of the northern coast of the Black sea and the Azov sea. Violation of norms of quality of water reached the levels causing degradation of water ecosystems, decline of reservoirs productivity. A considerable part of the population of Ukraine uses low-quality water for their vital needs which threatens health of the nation.
